BOARD OF DIRECTORS 

The Board of Directors shall consist of a Chapter Director, President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Girls’ Player Agent and Boys’ Player Agent. The Board of Directors shall meet on a regular basis. During the winter season, it is recommended that the board gather two times a month. During the off-season, the board of directors shall meet monthly. Special meetings may be held upon request of at least four (4) members of the board of directors.

The Board of Directors shall the power to discipline, suspend, or terminate
any member, coach, assistant coach, player, committee member, or other person whose behavior and conduct is contrary to National Junior Basketball's standards. The local chapter's decision will be a majority decision and will be final.
 
NJB Headquarters reserves the right to remove any board member at any time from
Candidates for Chapter Director of existing chapters will submit intentions to the Sectional Director and complete the Chapter Director Application provided on the NJB website. The Sectional Director shall interview all candidates and will forward his/her selection to NJB Headquarters for approval. All Chapter Directors should have a child playing in the chapter. For expansion areas or areas without sectional support, those Chapter Directors shall be directly appointed by NJB headquarters.
All members of the board of directors should have a child playing in the chapter.

DUTIES OF BOARD MEMBERS

Chapter Director -
The National Headquarters will approve this post. The Chapter Director will be the liaison between the local chapter and National Junior Basketball. The Chapter Director will also serve on the local chapter's board. The Chapter Director is a voting position. There is a 4-year maximum term limit on this position. National Headquarters shall review for re-instatement each year.

President
- The President shall preside at all chapter meetings for the board of directors and chapter membership. Has the right to select the members of the working committee, with board approval. Shall perform such duties normally associated with the office of President. Shall be responsible that the chapter secure Director and Officers Liability Policy or Indemnity Bond.

Vice President
- The Vice President shall perform such duties as assigned by the President. Otherwise, assist the President in the implementation of procedures and programs. He shall preside at meetings in the absence of the President.

Secretary
- The Secretary shall have possession of the by-laws and the constitution. He must keep an accurate record of the Chapter, Keep concise records of meetings and other activities of the board of directors. He shall transmit all records and correspondence to the person following him or her in this office and to their Sectional Director.

Treasurer
- The Treasurer shall receive and disburse all finances with the approval of the board.  Also the treasurer must keep accurate records of funds and disbursements. He or she shall submit a financial report at all regular meetings and shall compile an annual report. The Treasurer shall complete and submit the Chapter Financial Statement to NJB Headquarters by May 31st. The Treasurer is also responsible to acquire the Chapters EIN Number if the Chapter does not currently have one. He shall transfer all financial records to the board of directors. Will submit the financial records of the Chapter for audit when directed. Two signatures are required on every check.

Girls' Player Agent
- The Player Agent shall organize and supervise the annual player registrations of all candidates. Coordinate the skill evaluation, player clinics, and team draft.  Keep chapter parity a supreme priority, at all times, Provide roster and copies of consent and medical release forms to all head coaches. Staff all sign-up stations at the sites indicated.

Boys' Player Agent - The Player Agent shall organize and supervise the annual player registrations of all candidates. Robert's Rules
Roberts Rules of Order shall govern all meetings of the board of directors and committee sessions. Among the important aspects: meetings should follow patterns of formality; how to call to ordet', and the order of business; motions, handling of motions, and voting on motions; preparation and recording of minutes.

AMENDMENTS
These By-laws
may only be amended at any annual meeting or special meeting by a majority
vote after final approval from NJB Headquarters. (Exception ARTICLES 10 and 11).
